What we are
We are a collective of 45+ Hamilton and area artists and artisans, operating since 1983. Our aim is to increase awareness and appreciation of items designed and handcrafted by local crafters, makers, and artists.
Our shop has a unique mix of pottery, stained and fused glass, wood, leather goods, book binding, original artworks, photography, stone pictures, jewellery, re-purposed clothing, knitting, greeting cards, felting, soaps… and many other gifts for all occasions.
Each piece is hand-crafted by local artists and artisans. Our shop is artist-run and staffed entirely by our members — when you visit, you’ll be served by the very makers who created what’s on the shelves.
Prices range from a few dollars to hundreds.
Vendor Inquiries
We do not purchase products wholesale to sell in our shop – handmade or otherwise. As a collective of local-area artisan members, we make and sell our own one-of-a-kind handmade work through our shop, Textures Craftworks.
Donations, fundraisers, and charities
We are not a typical retail store which purchases products at wholesale prices to sell at retail. We are actually a collective of local, independent artists who make one-of-a-kind, handmade products. Often there is simply no margin in creating one-of-a-kind handmade goods to be able to donate items.
As a collective of independent artists, the shop itself does not have the right to give away the work of others. If individual artists are able, they donate on their own outside of the shop.
We hope you understand and that this answers any questions you may have. Please, if you have us on your mailing list for donation solicitations, kindly remove us from your mailing list as our situation and stated policy will not change.
